Recently marginalized women from labor market tended to choose the self-employment to overcome their status and adjust the balance of work and family. This study examined what is maintaining business really for women's life mean and the factors which affect life satisfaction of self-employment women, focusing on work-family management strategies. To accomplish theses goals, a Latent Growth Modeling analysis was conducted using from 2012 to 2016 wave of the longitudinal panel data set of 307 maintaining self-employment married women from the Korean Labor panel Survey. The life satisfaction of self-employment women has increased steadily for 5years. The number of children and family workers and weekly working times have positive effects on affecting the growth rates of life satisfaction, but social closeness satisfaction has a negative effect. The results suggest while maintaining their businesses this process, family factors are positive interactions, not conflict factors. Therefore, the work and life balance policies should be improved focusing on the situation of self-employment women. In addition, considering the negative effects of social closeness satisfaction, we had better think about facilitating the support system of their networks.
